- 2 cups fresh spinach, loosely packed
- 1 medium ripe banana
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 2 tablespoons natural almond butter
- 1 tablespoon raw honey
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup ice cubes
Instructions
- Rinse the fresh spinach thoroughly under cold water and pat dry gently.
- Peel the ripe banana and break it into 2-inch chunks.
- Pour the unsweetened almond milk into the blender first.
- Add the natural almond butter to the almond milk.
- Add the fresh spinach and banana chunks to the blender.
- Pour in the raw honey.
- Add the chia seeds and vanilla extract.
- Top with the ice cubes.
- Secure the blender lid and blend on low speed for 3 seconds to combine the ingredients.
- Increase to high speed and blend for 45 to 60 seconds, until completely smooth and creamy.
- Blend for an additional 15 to 20 seconds if any spinach pieces remain visible.
- Pour the smoothie into a tall glass.
- Garnish with additional chia seeds, if desired, and serve immediately.
Notes
Use frozen banana chunks for an extra-creamy smoothie with less need for ice. Add the almond milk and almond butter to the blender first to help the remaining ingredients blend smoothly.
