Ingredients
Scale
- 2 tablespoons whole medium-roast coffee beans
- 8 ounces filtered water
Instructions
- Measure the whole coffee beans and grind them to a medium consistency resembling sea salt.
- Pour the filtered water into a kettle and heat it to 195-205°F.
- Place the ground coffee into the filter or chamber of your drip maker, pour-over brewer, or French press.
- Pour approximately 2 ounces of hot water slowly over the coffee grounds.
- Allow the coffee grounds to bloom for 30 to 45 seconds.
- Gradually pour the remaining hot water over the coffee grounds in a circular motion.
- Allow the coffee to brew for 4 to 5 minutes, depending on the brewing method used.
- Pour the finished black coffee into a clean cup immediately after brewing.
- Serve hot without added sugar, cream, or sweeteners.
Notes
Use freshly roasted whole coffee beans and filtered water for the best flavor. Keep the brewing water between 195-205°F to avoid weak or overly bitter coffee, and enjoy the coffee black without added sweeteners or cream.
